I came across a post today by MIT Tech Review. It was on the current state of using embryonic stem cells to cure Type I Diabetes. In a way the piece is pessimistic. It outlines many of the very real barriers to using stem cells to solve this problem. What keeps me hopeful is the exponential growth of technology. If developments like this were to continue at a linear pace, we might be waiting a very long time to see practical use and applications to help our friends and our children. I say give it three years. We tend to underestimate what can be done over a time-frame of 36 months.

We can see how far off I am in my predictions by checking back on the date that this was posted: August 13, 2016.

In the mean time, check out the story here.
